
The Covid case count and death toll touched new records in India in the past 24 hours.
The country reported 4,12,262 new Covid cases yesterday. 3,29,113 people were discharged during the day.
There were 3,980 deaths during the day, the highest 24-hour toll so far, data released by the Union Health Ministry showed.
The latest figures take the country's total case count to 2,10,77,410 and deaths to 2,30,1,68.
Total recoveries currently stand at 1,72,80,844. A total of 16,25,13,339 people have been vaccinated, the data showed.
Yesterday was the second time that the single-day case count crossed the 4-lakh mark in the country. The first incidence was seen on April 30.
