Visually impaired musician, singer Comagan dies of COVID

Chennai, May 6 (UNI) Visually impaired musician and
singer M.J.C.Comagan, who had featured in the hugely
popular Tamil song 'Ovvoru Pookalume' in Cheran's 2005
hit film 'Autograph', died due to COVID-19.
He was 48.
Founder of the popular music troupe Raaga Priya Orchestra,
whose members are also visually impaired, Comagan is
survived by his wife and two children.
The song 'Ovvoru Pookalume' in director Cheran’s 2004 film
'Autograph', was picturised on the Raaga Priya orchestra,
with actor Sneha singing along.
Comagan has also donned small roles in a few films and
composed music for Tamil film 'Muthal Muthalai' in 2007.
Condoling his death, Cheran, in a tweet, said Comagan was
someone who instilled belief and confidence through his voice
and mind.
"For the 25 members of his troupe and their families, he
was their eyes. My heart is shattered after hearing about
his demise," he added.
In 1999, the Raaga Priya troupe performed non-stop for
16 hours stop with 183 songs and entered the Limca Book
of World Records.
The troupe has performed more than 3,000 light music shows
as well as for fundraising events, and was bestowed with the
Tamil Nadu State Award in 2006.
