RLD chief Ajit Singh dies COVID-19

New Delhi: Former Union Minister and leader of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Ajit Singh, died in a Gurgaon hospital on Thursday morning COVID-19, his family said. He was 82.

Singh, the son of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, has been positively diagnosed for COVID-19 The family said in a statement on April 20.

“Chaudhary Ajit Singh ji was diagnosed as COVID+ on April 20th. He fought until the end of his condition and this morning on May 6, 2021, he breathed his last, “tweeted his son Jayant Chowdhury.

During his life journey, Chaudhary Sahib was loved and respected by many people. He in turn nurtured this bond with you all and gave his best consideration and efforts for your well-being, ‘he said.

‘As our nation is facing the horrific pandemic, it is our humble request to all who wish to pay their respects to please stay at home as far as possible. We must adhere to all safety protocols to keep ourselves and everyone around us healthy and safe. This would be the best way to honor Chaudhary Sahib as well as everyone COVID warriors who are working day and night to protect us, ”he said.

“We pray for comfort for all the families affected by this cruel disease,” reads the message Jayant posted on behalf of the family.

Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath, SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav and others have condemned the leader’s death.
