Imphal, May 6 (UNI) Greater Imphal and Churachandpur district will be considered as Containment zones.
Greater Imphal was declared as containment zone on April 30 and the Chairperson, State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, MH Khan today said the increasing trends in the spread of infection calls for continued restrictions, despite hardships, to check this Covid-19 infection without resorting to a complete shutdown in the interest of public health.
Churachandpur District was declared as a Containment Zone with immediate effect for a period of seven days suspending all activities and movements of persons, except the permitted activities
from today.
The existing restrictions as containment zone in Imphal Municipal
areas and Greater Imphal areas will continue till April 17.
Containment zone in areas under IMC and Greater Imphal continues with the suspension of all activities and movement of persons. All shops in Thangal Bazaar and Paona Bazaar women markets, and adjoining Temporary Markets, local markets shall remain closed.
Wholesale shops in Imphal may open at the rate of one in three
shops on rotation from 6 am to 10am, with strict avoidance of crowding.
For the entire state night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am will continue.
The list of exempted categories including health, media, fire etc were also given.
