Now boneless chicken breast is trading at $2.04 a pound, the firm said. Over the past decade, the price averaged about $1.32 a pound.“Demand for wings is more than we can currently fill,” said Mike Cockrell, chief financial officer for Sanderson, which supplies chicken to chains, including Buffalo Wild Wings and TGI Fridays, and food service distributor Sysco Corp.When are we going to call this what it is...inflation.Pilgrim’s CEO Fabio Sandri said last week staffing shortages have affected which products Pilgrim’s plants can produce. One way to get inexpensive chicken is to buy a whole raw bird and butcher it yourself. You get more meat, you get the guts, and you get the bones for stock/gravy. That's how I get my chicken wings, chicken breasts, tenders, gravy, and that sort of chit. No need to buy boneless chicken.
