    Share price of Torrent Pharma falls as Sensex drops 25.59 points

    Share price of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. dropped 0.05 per cent to Rs 2622.2 at 10:25AM (IST) in Thursday's trade. The counter hit a high of Rs 2675.5 and low of Rs 2595.0 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 2623.5 in the previous session.

    The counter had a total traded volume of 10:25AM shares so far with a turnover of Rs 1.94 crore on BSE. The stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 35.78 and a price-to-book ratio of 6.92.

    A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

    Its profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 297.0 crore, up 18.33 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
