- The case relates to allegations made by copywriter Deon Wigget in the podcast "My Only Story".
The sexual assault case of former Media24 journalist and school teacher Willem Breytenbach has been postponed to June.
It was postponed in the Cape Town Regional Court to give the parties the opportunity to gather "further particulars".
The case relates to allegations which copywriter Deon Wigget revealed in the podcast "My Only Story". Soon other people stepped forward and claimed that they too had been victims.
Breytenbach closed shop at an advertising agency in Cape Town and left his home in Sea Point when the allegations were made public after Wigget's personal investigation and a complaint was laid with the police.

Some of the allegations date back to 1989 and 1990 when Breytenbach taught at Grey College in Bloemfontein.
Breytenbach was traced to an area on the southern Cape coast where his mother lives, and arrested in Hartenbos.
On Thursday, Breytenbach arrived at court early as usual after the long journey to Cape Town.
He stood behind a perspex Covid-19 screen that was attached to the dock as the magistrate was provided with an update on the case.
The application for further particulars was made in terms of Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Act, which gives an accused the right to see the details of the charges they face so that they can be properly informed when preparing their defence.
When the matter was postponed, Breytenbach had a short corridor consultation with his lawyer.
The matter was postponed to 29 June.
