Integrate benefits of various schemes for development of women & children: minister

Nashik, May 6 (UNI) Maharashtra Women & Child Development Minister Advocate Yashomati Thakur on Thursday stated that all the district-level offices under the Ministry and also the benefits of various schemes for the development of women and children should be brought under one roof.
She made this suggestion at a meeting held to review the current Covid situation in the district and Women & Child Development Department at the collector's office here.
Speaking further, she said that currently various schemes for the development of women and children are being implemented at the district level through various offices of Zilla Parishad, such as Women & Child Welfare Department, District Women & Child Development Office and Women's Economic Development Corporation.
If all these offices are brought under one roof, it will be more convenient for women to avail the benefits of various schemes, she said.
The minister called for expediting the construction of Mahila and Bal Vikas Bhavan in the district and said through this building, the concept of 'Small Mart' will be implemented to help the women of the self-help groups.
She also advocated for organizing training for the chairpersons of the Vishaka Committee to make them aware of the technical aspects.
Adv Thakur instructed the concerned authorities to keep an eye on domestic violence, cyber crime, the functioning of the office of the Women's Commission and the One Home One Stop Centre.
On messages being circulated on social media about adoption of children orphaned due to Covid, the minister said that proper planning should be done to prevent unauthorized adoption of any child in such a situation.

Also, efforts should be made to provide proper facilities to the migrant women and children, added Adv Thakur.
