Hyderabad: With the second wave of COVID-19 infections that stress the existing healthcare system find it difficult for patients to even get a bed in hospitals.
In an effort to resolve this, South Central Railway (SCR) has begun converting at least 100 train carriages COVID-19 care centers that will accommodate more than 1,000 patients in the state.
All provision for treatment, including refillable oxygen cylinders, is made available.
The SCR has already started its services at the railway hospitals of Secunderabad and Kazipet from 1 February.

The Telangana government also uses the provision by using standard procedures and logistics to make patients move more smoothly to and from hospitals.
According to railway officials, 232 COVID care carts, with almost 4,000 bed capacities, are used at 14 stations in different parts of the country, while 4,176 isolation tours are still available.
