Two days after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar declared a 10-day lockdown in Bihar, many BJP leaders including Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Jaiswal on Wednesday appreciated Bihar government decision to impose a lockdown in the state to break Covid infections chain in the state.
Nitish Kumar announced on Tuesday that Bihar would go into lockdown till May 15.. However, shops selling vegetables, grocery, meat, fish and chicken have been allowed to open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The announcement came hours after the Patna High Court ordered the government to declare a lockdown, warning that otherwise, the court may step in.
Yesterday, the Chief Minister urged people to postpone weddings and other social functions, with the state reporting over 10,000 daily cases for several days.
What Bihar BJP chief has said in his Facebook post ?
In the post that has enraged Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United, Bihar BJP Chief Sanjay Jaiswal implies that the Bihar government ignored his advice to impose a lockdown when Covid cases in the state were less than 40,000. He has put out an “I-Told-You-So” post on Facebook in which he wrote with over one lakh active cases now, there is no other option.
In his post, Jaiswal said Bihar government has imposed 10-days lockdown from Wednesday. He urged the people of Bihar to follow this to save your family’s life. He said that the state government has taken the tough call in the interest of common people and opposition leaders should avoid doing politics over it.
What Tejashwi Yadav has said ?
Earlier, the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav questioned the state government about the delayed lockdown decision. The RJD were demanding for the last 15-day lockdown in the state but the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ignored. He said the state government has imposed lockdown after the Patna high court passed strong remarks on Tuesday against the government for not taking a decision on a lockdown. The Bihar government decided to impose lockdown at a time when infections have reached the village level.
What Sanjay Jaiswal had said earlier ?
This is the second post of Bihar BJP chief within a week. In a previous Facebook post on May 1, Jaiswal, who is a doctor, had made an alarming reference to a close friend in Patna who is a doctor and not picking up calls because he was helpless in a growing health crisis.

He said that the situation reached at the stage that even his close friend in Patna who is a doctor is not picking up his calls as he is unable to help.
