Safaricom receives delayed KES 1.5 bln payment for police CCTV contract

Kenyan operator Safaricom will receive KES 1.5 billion from the state as an instalment payment for a security and surveillance system it built for the National Police Service, The Business Daily reported. The state has faced threats of disconnection for default. Budget documents for the new year starting July that were tabled in Parliament show the payment for the service.
