IPL 2021 suspended – More CSK players can test positive: The fall out of a bio-bubble breach in IPL continues with Chennai Super Kings’ batting coach Michael Hussey latest to test positive for COVID-19. However, more members of CSK could also test positive with Michael Hussey attending practice session 2-3 days before the test result. One of the CSK members also saw him chatting with Faf du Plessis and Suresh Raina during their net sessions, making the duo more vulnerable.

“Michael Hussey was in practice sessions even 2-3 days before being pronounced positive yesterday. He was seen mingling with everyone. I myself saw him chatting with Du Plessis & Suresh Raina for 15-20 Mins. He spent time with few others as well,” said one of the CSK squad members told InsideSport.

On Monday, a CSK bus cleaner and Laxmipathy Balaji tested positive apart from CEO Kasi Viswanathan’s false-positive report. On Saturday, CSK played Mumbai Indians in Delhi and Balaji was seen in the dugouts with several other players including Robin Uthappa, Mitchell Santner and others. With the virus’ incubation period being 6 days, it is likely that Balaji might have transmitted the virus to others after being infected.

It should also be noted that five DDCA groundsmen at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium tested positive after the match against RR vs SRH on Sunday. While it is difficult to pinpoint if CSK team members contracted the virus from infected groundsmen, it is likely that they came in contact with a few.

IPL 2021 suspended: Soon, on Tuesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha tested positive with the entire team needed to be isolated in their hotel rooms. Before Saha tested positive, he was already put into isolation after developing symptoms. However, before that, he came in contact with his teammates and other SRH staff.

“Saha was in isolation for last 3-4 days. As soon as he showed some symptoms, he was isolated from the rest of the team – but before that he met almost each and every member of the team. This is the reason team members panicked on Monday and were not ready to play against MI,” informed a senior support staff member of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In Ahmedabad, another set of players from Kolkata Knight Riders has also been isolated after Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive.
