Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) The COVID-19 cases in Telangana continue to rise as the state reported 6,361 new Coronavirus cases till 2000 hours on Tuesday, taking the cumulative caseload to 4,69,722 so far.
With the death of 51 patients in the last 24 hours, the overall toll in the state stands at 2,527 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a State Health Department bulletin here on Wednesday.
A total of 8,126 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide pushing the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 3,89,491 constituting a recovery rate of 82.91 per cent while the National recovery rate was 82 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state presently was 77,704, the bulletin said.
Between Monday and Tuesday, 77,435 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 3,882 swab samples are awaited.
As of yesterday, more than 1.32 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
