KALYAN: Thousands of residents including those in home isolation due to Covid-19 from Titwala and Manda area near Kalyan had to sweat it out as power supply was cut for almost 12 hours due to technical fault from Tuesday evening at 6.30pm to Wednesday morning till 4.30am. The MSEDCL spoke person said, “The three major power lines of Goveli 22KV feeder supplying power to Titwala and Manda area was affected due to technical failure. The power supply was cut off on Tuesday at 6.30pm. Alternative supply to Goveli Covid centre and Manda west was resumed avoiding inconvenience to many people including Covid-19 patients. MSEDCL employees and contractor's workers carried out repair work overnight and power supply was restored on Wednesday at 8.30am. However, till time those who were in-home isolation had to suffer the entire night without electricity at home. A Covid-19 patient’s relative from Manda area told TOI, “Due to power outage entire evening and night my father who is in home isolation had to suffer a lot as he could not able to sleep an entire night”. Another person Amol Pingale, resident from the famous Regency Sarvam complex where hundreds of people reside said, “Very the pathetic situation, water supply and electricity issues are very frequent here”.
