Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao said on Wednesday that the state government has set aside 26,000 million euros for the acquisition of paddy in the state.
The Minister addressed the officials at a review meeting on the progress of the acquisition of paddy in the Siddipet district and addressed the officials working at ground level to update the details on the acquisition of paddy. He said they should set up a system to deposit the amount in the bank accounts of farmers within 24 hours of the purchase of the paddy
Harish Rao noted that the staff at the procurement centers did not upload the details about the padie acquisition, but that they were given tabs to upload the details. Harish Rao said they acquired 40,000 tons of paddy against the expected paddy of 5.4 lakh tons for this Yasangi, said they understood with 51 rice factories in the district.
As they were expecting a large amount of paddy to procurement centers, Rao instructed them to be willing to cater to the needs. Rao warned them about hailstorms and said the harvested paddy should be protected from rain.
He asked them to take care of the adequate supply of taurpalines, rabbit bags and transport facilities. Collector Siddipet P Venkatrami Reddy, additional collector Muzammil Khan, district agricultural officer Sravan Kumar and others were present.
