Nawanshahr: Owing to an acute shortage of vaccination doses, only 50 persons could be inoculated here on Tuesday. After the vaccination, vaccines went out of stock. The department wrote to the state head office, demanding the supply of more doses. On Monday, 600 persons had received the vaccine doses. District Immunisation Officer Dr J Want Singh said the doses were out of stock. On a daily basis, 4,000-5,000 persons were being immunised. The district department would get 5,000 doses for Wednesday. TNS

Vaccination for scribes starts

Jalandhar: Describing inoculation as the most effective weapon against the infection, DC Ghanshyam Thori on Tuesday inaugurated a special inoculation camp organised for the journalists at the local Red Cross Bhawan. The DC said Jalandhar was the leading district in the state as far as the Covid vaccination was concerned. He also solicited the support and cooperation of journos for spreading awareness about the pandemic. TNS

F&CC meeting on May 7 now

Jalandhar: A series of F&CC meetings have been held in the last one month. It is happening after a long time when meetings are taking place twice or thrice a month. Though a meeting was held on May 3, the next one will now be held on May 7. The agendas include construction of cement concrete roads in various parts of the city and development of parks. TNS
