COVID-19 cruelty: 8 bodies cremated in the city on a single fire

Hyderabad: With the peak in COVID-19 cases, the number of deaths also increases per day. The situation is so dire that about seven to eight bodies are cremated on a single fire in Hyderabad. A video of the collective cremation is already on social media.

It should be noted that some crematoria in the neighboring state of Karnataka also hung a ‘domestic’ sign outside. The death toll in Telangana has also increased recently. Thousands of new cases are reported and the deaths are more than 50 per day, according to state government data.

According to a reliable source, there are 100 to 130 deaths daily in the state of Telangana, and the proof is that hundreds of corpses come to the crematorium and cemeteries for their last rituals. The number of deaths in the Greater Hyderabad area is increasing as more and more COVID-19 cases are reported.

Due to objections from the locals, the last rituals are performed in the dark of night with the help of the police. According to a GHMC official, 5 to 6 bodies are being cremated. A video of this has already been done on social media rounds in which 8 bodies are cremated on a single stake in the Lower Tank Bund crematorium.

According to local residents, dead bodies are brought by ambulance after 22:00. In the case of wood shortages, petrol is sprinkled to cremate the corpses. A large number of bodies are also cremated at other crematorium grounds at ESI, Bansilal Peth, Cowadiguda, Ambarpeth and Jalpally.
