Mamata brought the BJP to its knees and once again is sworn in as CM, hence Mamata Banerjee is also called a 'firebrand' politician. She entered politics when she was 15 years old.
Mamta Banerjee was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. She lost her father Promileswar Banerjee at the age of 17 due to a lack of medical facilities.
Mamta Banerjee passed her Higher Secondary Board examination from Deshbandhu Shishu Vidyalaya in the year 1970 and after that, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Jogmaya Devi College. Mamta Banerjee also holds a master's degree in Islamic history from the University of Calcutta. She then received an education degree from Sri Shikshayatan College and a law degree from Jogesh Chandra Chaudhary Law College, Kolkata.
She also holds a doctorate from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar. She has also been conferred with the title of Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt.) By the University of Calcutta.
