Monnalisa SpA, an Italy-based high-end childrenswear sector leader, has reported 30 per cent sales decline to €33.6 million in its complete fiscal 2020 that ended on December 31, 2020, compared to the sales of €47.9 million in the previous fiscal. The group’s net result for the year registered a loss of €7.8 million (FY19: €8.4 million).
Distribution by revenue channel saw growth of 21 per cent for e-commerce channel through the proprietary digital channel reflecting a highly-focused strategy with investment targeting major technological development to support the digital platform and the positioning on the online channels also internationally.
Retail sales during FY20 slipped 38 per cent to €9.6 million (€15.5 million), while wholesale sales fell 28 per cent to €22.2 million (€30.9 million).
Regionally, sales in Italy fell 32 per cent to €10.7 million (€15.7 million). Sales in Europe decreased 33 per cent to €8.7 million (€13.0 million), and rest of the world sales were down 26 per cent to €14.1 million (€19.1 million).
