Bhubaneswar, May 05 (UNI)The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch today busted an inter-state illegal firearms racket and arrested two criminals.
Police identified the two criminals as Rabindra Prasad of Munger in Bihar and Biswanath Bison of Srikrishnapur in Balasore district of Odisha.
The STF team seized Five 7 MM automatic pistols, 7 Magazine and 07 live ammunition from their possession.
STF Sources said based on intelligence input a team of officers of STF intercepted the two criminals near Ranital, Bhadrak.
During the search, heavy arms and ammunitions — Five 7 MM automatic pistols, 7 Magazine and as many live ammunition were recovered from their possession.
STF registered a case U/s. 25/27 Arms Act and investigation is on. Both the criminals would be forwarded to court.
During the last one year, STF has alone seized as many as 27 firearms, 61 live ammunition.
