AmaZulu FC are officially the DStv Premiership Q-Innovation Quarter Three Winners, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced on Tuesday.
"Usuthu won the eight-match Quarter three (Q3) block after collecting 20 points with an impressive record of six wins and two draws," the statement read.
"Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns (both on 15 points) finished quarter three in second and third positions respectively."
Since he arrived in KwaZulu-Natal in mid-December last year, Benni McCarthy has changed the trajectory of the Durban side, which has been under new ownership since the start of the 2020/21 campaign.
He has taken Usuthu from fighting to avoid relegation to vying for DStv Premiership credentials as they now hold the second spot on the log standings.
AmaZulu are back in action next week, Tuesday, 11 May, against Baroka FC as they continue to apply pressure on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kick-off will be at 15:00.
