Portugal approves transitional management model for public safety network

The Portuguese government has approved a decree that defines a transitional model for the management, operation, maintenance, modernisation and expansion of the SIRESP emergency telecommunications network, reports Lusa. The Interior Minister announced earlier in Parliament that the public-private partnership "will not be renewed" on 30 June when it expires and that contracts with private operators will not be extended.
