FWICE requests Maharashtra government to provide vaccines for artists, workers and technicians of media and entertainment industry

Ever since the second wave of coronavirus pandemic has hit India, the life of every individual has turned upside down. On one hand, where the medical facilities are reeling under the pressure of an ever-growing number of patients while hospital beds, medications and oxygen supply are woefully low, on the other, the daily wage workers are financially struggling. Now, in a letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackery, Federation of Western India Cine Employees requested to provide vaccines for artists, workers and technicians of the M & E industry. The proposal was sent to them by Yash Raj Films regarding their intent to provide 60000 doses from CM to vaccinate 30000 workers. YRF wishes to bear the entire expenses incurred on this vaccination center set up along with the cost incurred for the vaccines, thus this will reduce the financial burden on the state. They even offered to extend support and cooperation to make this vaccination drive successful. They further added that once the vaccination is done, members can resume their work and they won't have any fear.
