Erabot greets on World Press Freedom Day

Imphal, May 03 2021: MLA of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency, Yumkham Erabot has extended warm wishes to the journalists of the State on the occasion of "World Press Freedom Day" which is observed every year on May 3.In his greeting, the MLA said that the day is dedicated to freedom of the press and media.

The role of media is very important in shaping a free and democratic society, he said while lauding journalists who are at the frontline performing their duties risking their lives even during this pandemic time.

"Freedom of press and speech is what keeps the society alive.

No force or law can stop the right to free press and free speech.

It is the only means to a free society with free ideas," he added.
