The acclaimed filmmaker has requested maharashtra chief minister uddhav thackeray to allow the company to buy 60,000 COVID-19 vaccines and cover all costs associated with the immunisation programme for these employees.

The Federation of Western india Cine Employees (FWICE) received a letter from YRF that read as follows: "With the film industry going through a period of unprecedented change, it is critical that it resume operations as soon as possible so that thousands of workers can reclaim their livelihoods and protect their families. Yash raj Films would like to give its support in this regard through The yash chopra Foundation. We also requested that the Honourable chief minister of maharashtra allot funds and allow us to purchase COVID-19 vaccines for 30,000 registered film industry employees in mumbai as soon as possible."

It went on to say, "The yash chopra Foundation would also cover all other costs associated with immunising employees, such as making people aware, transportation, and the establishment of all necessary facilities for the immunisation programme. We hope that our appeal is granted, allowing our members to remain healthy and return to work as soon as possible."
