NEW DELHI: After entering the wearable market in India, it appears that Realme is all set to enter a new category in the country. Realme is expected to enter the laptop segment this year in India.

The smartphone maker has started a questionnaire on its forum in which it is asking users about their laptop preferences. Realme is also asking people if they are planning to purchase a laptop in the next three months.

This hints that the company might be planning to launch its first laptop in India in the third quarter of 2021.

The questionnaire posted on the Realme India forum consists of different questions related to laptops. Along with all the general questions the company has also posted a question of price range. The price range question starts with Rs 30,000 and goes up to Rs 50,000. This means that Realme is planning to launch its first laptop in the country under Rs 50,000.

If this is true, then the new laptop from Relame will give competition to Redmi which offers laptops under Rs 50,000 and entered the Indian market last year.

Apart from smartphones Realme is also selling wearables, audio and IoT products in India.

Recently, Realme launched the Realme 8G smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 14,999 and it is available online on Flipkart and Realme.com.

Realme 8 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor paired with 4GB/8GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 128GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 1TB by adding a microSD card.

Running Android 11 operating system, the smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
