IPL 2021: After bowling coach L Balaji, CSK’s batting coach Michael Hussey tested positive for COVID-19- Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey has tested positive for COVID-19. The development comes a day after bowling coach L Balaji tested positive for the virus. The reports came later on Tuesday and it is being retested. The CSK management is hoping that he doesn’t test positive twice.
“Hussey tested positive. But his samples are being redone. Hopefully, the report will come negative,” a source told The Times of India.
It is notable that CEO Kasi Viswanathan’s initial report had also come positive before another test report returned negative.

Earlier on Monday, bowling coach L Balaji and a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19. He has been isolated from the rest of the squad. Chennai Super Kings were left on the edge after their bowling coach Balaji and bus driver was tested positive.
Meanwhile, BCCI has postponed the IPL 2021 after COVID-19 breached CSK, DC, SRH and KKR camps.

“The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect,” BCCI said in a release.
“The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and well-being of all the stakeholders in mind,” it added.
MS Dhoni’s CSK had last played against Mumbai Indians on May 1.
