244 detained, fined for violating SOPs

Imphal, May 03 2021: The State police detained 244 persons for violating the guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management Authority for preventing the spread of Covid pandemic and collected a sum of Rs 80, 700 as fines.

They were released after warning, said police.

According to the police, the cumulative figure of violators detained is 1,37,295 while the fine collected so far is Rs 1,93,17,070 .

The Police Department, warned that those who violate the guidelines and restriction shall be dealt with with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other appropriate Laws.
