HPE's storage announcement features a data services platform said to collapse silos and remove complexity, thus maximising agility and innovation while reducing business risk.
The new platform becomes part of HPE GreenLake cloud services.
Three specific products were announced.
Data Services Cloud Console is based on the technology used in Aruba Central, and provides a unified API for HPE-led automation for applications, partner-led and custom-built data services, and gives developers access to infrastructure and data as code.
"Cloud sets the standard when it comes to agility," said LayerX Group CTO Bryce Farmilo.
"Data Services Cloud Console will bring cloud agility to all the data infrastructure that we manage on behalf of our clients – unifying management silos under a single web interface and enabling a consistent experience across edge to cloud."
Cloud Data Services is a suite of software subscription services said to radically simplify and automate global infrastructure management at scale.
HPE Alletra is the company's new range of cloud-native data infrastructure that can be used from the edge to the cloud, starting with the all-NVMe HPE Alletra 9000 (pictured above) and 6000 systems.
"HPE is changing the storage game by bringing a full cloud operational model to our customers' on-premises environments," said HPE Storage senior vice president and general manager Tom Black.
"Bringing the cloud operational model to where data lives accelerates digital transformation, streamlines data management, and will help our customers innovate faster than ever before."
All these new products can be ordered starting this month.
"Organisations face a complex web of fragmented hardware, software, and manual processes, making it difficult for them to compete and innovate in a constantly changing marketplace," said HPE president and CEO Antonio Neri.
"HPE was the first to recognise the need to deliver a unified and consistent cloud experience, from edge to cloud, with HPE GreenLake. Today's announcement builds on this strategy, by enabling our customers to break down silos and leverage data, wherever it resides, with unified data operations.
"As we enter the age of insight, HPE is providing the ideal platform for organisations seeking to apply distributed data to fuel AI initiatives, deliver new customer experiences, and drive digital transformation."
