The Deputy Medical Superintendent of the AIIMS patna, Dr. anil Kumar, has claimed that the D-LAMP initiative has assisted over 6,000 people to get rid of COVID-19 infection without even visiting the hospital.

According to the latest report, the Telemedicine Coordinator of AIIMS said that he receives a number of calls daily, mostly from jharkhand, rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, delhi, and Bihar. Most of the people call him to know about the COVID-19 infection.

In these tiring times, where there is a lack of hospital beds and oxygen, a person infected with the virus should immediately start taking the required medicines as early as possible based on the 'D-LAMP' concept.

Let us have a look at concept of 'D-LAMP’. Here are the broad points:

• 1. 'D-LAMP' is actually an acronym where each letter stands for a certain tablet we need to take for medication.
• 2. 'D' stands for Dexamethasone, 'L' for Low molecular weight heparin injection or Apixaban tablet, 'A' for Azithromycin tablet, 'M' for Montelukast and Levocetirizine and 'P' for Paracetamol. With the help of these medicines, COVID-19 infection can be cured within a few days.
• 3. Follow the 'M3 PHC' concept, which means an individual should do primary health care. M3 means mask, multivitamin and mouth gargle. 'P' means that if one sleeps more on one's stomach, it is unquestionable that the amount of oxygen can be kept right. ‘H' means Handwash and 'C' means Chest Physiotherapy. This is a must whether one has been infected with COVID-19 or not.
• 4. We can also do a chest physiotherapy at home by blowing a conch shell or inflating a balloon, or by chest spirometry.
• 5. The doctor also further said that the Remdesivir injection will help patients who usually take 15 days to recover from the infection. However, it is to be noted that the injection is not a panacea for COVID-19.
