Mumbai’s municipal corporation has opened its first drive-in vaccination facility.

Located at Dadar West, at the Kohinoor Parking lot, the vaccination centre has 7 rooms and will vaccinate those above 45 years of age who are eligible for their second dose of Covishield, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the city has resumed vaccination for those above 45 years, healthcare and frontline workers -- but in limited quantities and at select vaccination facilities. The shortage of vaccine supply from the central government has slowed down this process. Fresh supplies are in the pipeline, the central government said on May 3.

Vaccinations for those between 18-45 years has also begun in Mumbai, but again in limited quantities and at select centres and only upon prior registration and booking on the Co-win app. The BMC opens slots for this age group on a daily basis since May 1. The information is available on the municipal corporation’s social media.
