NEW DELHI: The Union government has allocated the Covid-19 medical supplies received from the global community to various states and UTs.
The government said it is taking steps for expeditious clearance and distribution of the medical and other relief and support material.
It created a cell under Addl. Secretary [Health], MoHFW to coordinate the receipt and allocation of foreign Covid relief material as grants, aid and donations.
Functioning from April 26, it comprises of one Joint Secretary on deputation from Ministry of Education, two Addl. Secy level officers from MEA, Chief Commissioner Customs, Economic Advisor from Ministry of Civil Aviation, Technical Advisor Dte. GHS, Representatives from HLL, two Joint Secretaries from MoHFW and Secretary General along with another representatives from IRCS.
Further, a high-level committee under CEO, NITI Aayog and comprising of Secretary Expenditure, MEA and officials of Niti Aayog and MoHFW has also been formed to oversee the whole operation.
38 medical institutions- 8 in Delhi-NCR, 2 in North-East, 4 in North India, 11 in East India, 4 in West and 3 in South – in 31 states and union territories have allocated the supplies so far. View More | Source: Times of India
