A 28-year-old man, who was on the run since January, has been arrested for credit card fraud.

The man, Vusi Lukhele, was apprehended on Saturday at the Beitbridge border in Musina, Limpopo.

Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani said his arrest related to alleged credit card fraud that was committed at Outdoor Warehouse at Somerset Mall in Somerset West in October 2020.

Lukhele was initially arrested on 8 October 2020.

He appeared in a local court where the matter was postponed.

However, he failed to appear on the next court date and the court issued a warrant for his arrest on 19 January.

On Monday, he appeared in the Musina Magistrate's Court where the case was postponed to 10 May and transferred to the Somerset West Magistrate's Court in Cape Town.
