Pune, May 4 (UNI) The highest maximum temperature of 41.2°C was reported at Ratlam (west Madhya Pradesh) and Jalgaon (Madhya Maharashtra).
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over south Saurashtra and Kutch; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over north Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Odisha, coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C and above) at isolated places over southeast Uttar Pradesh and northeast Madhya Pradesh; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over west Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh; at isolated places over rest east Uttar Pradesh, rest east Madhya Pradesh, interior Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, interior coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over Jharkhand; at many places over east Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha; at a few places over north interior Karnataka; at isolated places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm or Hailstorm observed (from 0830 hrs IST of yesterday to 0830 hrs IST of today) thunderstorm at a few places over Kerala, Mahe, Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, coastal Karnataka, north interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Hailstorm at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Gangetic West Bengal and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, north interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Rayalseema and south interior Karnataka.
