Hindi remake rights of Mohanlal's Drishyam 2: The Resumption acquired by Panorama Studios International

Hindi remake rights of Mohanlal's Drishyam 2: The Resumption acquired by Panorama Studios International

Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights of Mohanlal's Malayalam crime-drama Drishyam 2: The Resumption.

According to a press release, the production house intends to replicate the success of Drishyam 2 in the Hindi language. The details of who will helm this remake and the cast will soon be announced.

The Hindi Drishyam (2015) had Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles, also produced by Panorama Studios.

Director of the original film Jeethu Joseph said in a statement, “The story of Drishyam 2 resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. I am looking forward to it.”

Drishyam 2, shot during the pandemic last year, had its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 19 February. Besides Mohanlal, the film also sees Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil reprise their roles.

Besides a Hindi reiteration, Drishyam 2 will be remade in Kannada as Drishya 2 by P Vasu, starring V Ravichandran. Navya Nair, Aarohi Narayan, Unnati, Asha Sharath and Prabhu, who were part of Drishya (2014), will also be part of the upcoming sequel, writes Cinema Express.

Recently, the Telugu Drishyam 2, directed by Jeethu and starring Venkatesh Daggubati concluded its shoot, according to Bollywood Hungama.
