Gurgaon: At a time when the city is grappling with a high number of cases causing acute shortage of medicine and medical equipment, many have come forward to help people who are in need. One such NGO, IamGurgaon, has started a medicine bank, which is helping connect those who are looking for medicines being prescribed to Covid-19 patients with those who have recovered and have spare medicines. RWAs are also appealing to residents to donate spare medicines or medical equipment which they don’t require any more.
Namrita Choudhary, a member of IamGurgaon said, “Three of my family members have recently recovered from Covid-19. We have some unused medicines which can help someone suffering from the infection.”
Similarly, RWAs are also requesting residents to donate oxygen cylinders, unused medicines, oximeters among other things. “The response is tremendous We are also making efforts to establish an emergency Covid facility in the community centre by procuring three beds with oxygen concentrators and a nurse facility,” said Lalit Suraj Bhola, general secretary of Sector 9A RWA.
