Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday assembled a three-member panel led by Panchayat Raj and rural development commissioner M Raghunandan Rao to investigate allegations made by former minister Etela Rajender.
Few farmers on Friday made allegations against Rajender for seizing about 20 hectares of land in Achampet and Hakimpet of the Medak district. In response to the allegations, Rajender demanded that the sitting judge hear the case.
He said his ‘self-respect’ was worth more to him than his position. ‘There are several leaders who have earned hundreds of rupees illegally. I demand an investigation into all the people and their properties, ” he said as he demanded an investigation into his own property.
Etela Rajender has been removed from the Minister’s Council of State following the controversy surrounding land grabbing issues.
A press release from Raj Bhavan said on Sunday night that Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan had fired Rajender from the Council of Ministers with immediate effect on the advice of Prime Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The chief minister of Telangana, who ordered an investigation against Rajender over the allegations of land grabbing, took over the reins of the ministry of health on Saturday.
