Bengaluru, May 4 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has postponed PUC II examinations following surge in Covid-19 cases.
Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar on Tuesday said that the examinations scheduled to be held from May 24 stands postponed and revised dates will be announced later.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said the revised dates will be announced 15 to 20 days prior to the commencement of the final exams.
In the meantime, the department has taken a decision to promote I PUC students without conducting any examination. Previously it was decided to conduct the I PUC exams after the II PUC exams in the month of July. "The decision on promotion has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the children and a bridge course will be conducted before the commencement of II PUC classes," he added.
Mr Suresh Kumar said lecturers are advised to work from home as they are in regular contact with students in the wake of postponing exams. They should always be available for all administrative procedures, including regular contact with students, discussion on curriculum.
He said that lecturers engaged in covid duties have to fulfill their responsibilities.
