Felicitation of Prof N Rajmuhon Singh, VC of DM University

Kanglei Khongyang Thijinyon (KKT), Imphal, an advanced research center felicitate Prof N Rajmuhon Singh on being appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.

Dr. L Jaideva Singh, Director KKT Imphal presented a lengyan to Prof Rajmohan at the Office of Department of Chemistry, Manipur University, Canchipur. The program was attended by Dr Meitram Niraj Luwang, Senior Scientist, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune who is also the Chief Consultant of KKT, Imphal.

Prof N Rajmuhon is the 3rd faculty from Department of Chemistry, Manipur University after Prof I. S. Khaidem (VC, Manipur University) and Prof S. K. Srivastava, VC, NEHU Shillong, who were appointed as the VC of an university before their superannuation.

Prof. N. Rajmuhon Singh got his M.Sc. Degree (Chemistry) in 1982 and M.Phil. Degree (Chemistry) in 1983 from Kurukshetra University, Haryana. He received his Ph.D. Degree in 1990 from Manipur University. Since 1985, Prof. Rajmuhon has been teaching at Department of Chemistry, Manipur where he became a Professor of Physical Chemistry, in 2003.

He was Dean, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (2017-2019), Head, Department of Chemistry (2005-2007), Dean of Student’s Welfare (2001-2004),. He was former Court member and Syndicate member of Manipur University.

Currently he is member of Court Committee, Academic Council and Board of Studies. He is also President of Manipur University Alumni Association (starting from 2018). Prof. Rajmuhon is currently Chairman of State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority, Nominated Member of National Council for Teacher Education (Eastern Region) and member of The Manipur State Education Council.

He has more than 120 research papers to his credit which are published mainly in reputed international journals. He has guided sixteen Ph.D. students and co-guided seven Ph.D. students. His area of research interest includes Spectral analysis of 4f-4f transitions, Nanomaterials and lanthanides chemistry, Ion-solvent Interactions, Environmental Science, Food Science and Medicinal plants.

He had visited Germany, Poland, Thailand and Bangladesh in connection with academic matters. He has completed 12 major Projects funded by various funding agencies. He has written eight books, six co-author books. He is also a life member of professional bodies/societies (7Numbers). Prof. Rajmuhon is also taking keen interest in popularization of science.

KKT, Imphal wishes Prof Rajmuhon to bring in an innovative approach in upgrading DM University to a top university in the country.
