Partial curfew in Andhra Pradesh for 14 days starting from May 5

As India battles a resurgent COVID-19 pandemic, state governments across the country are extending curfews or increasing restrictions to contain the spread. The Andhra Pradesh government has also announced that it will imposes a partial curfew in the state for 14 days starting May 5.

At a high-level review meeting on the prevailing situation, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced this decision, official sources said.

Shops would be allowed to open daily from 6 AM to 12 noon, with prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC in force.

Thereafter, only emergency services would be allowed as curfew would be clamped till 6 AM in the morning.


For the past few days, night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am is in force in the state to contain COVID-19

The government had yesterday decided to postpone Intermediate examinations which were scheduled to be held from May 5.
