there are different fasting plans. That is what I do and am doing today, eating just breakfast and fasting for the rest of the day. I'm looking to drop a few more fat pounds and have found this works well for me.
I've read that many fast for a whole day, not eating any meals for the day, doing that a few times a week.

yes, its not multi day fasting but a form of intermediate fasting.
The "intermediate fasting" of 8 hour window 16 off i think are over blown because that is pretty close to normal, basically anyone who skips breakfast or dinner does this. But just once a day is a pretty big difference. It will have all kinds of effects on blood sugar levels and hormones which all fluctuate throughout the day. Depends on you if it works for whatever goals you have.

I'm doing 20 hour fasts right now with a 48 hour fast once a week. Its brutal but effective. You have very little in the way of food choice as everything revolves around macro and micronutrients. Foods like avocado are more or less mandatory due to how many boxes they check.
I'm doing this for 10 weeks and then switching to maintenance calories for a few weeks. I am 6 weeks in right now and down 4 inches on my waist, I am not using a scale at all.
I am lifting and doing cardio but the lifting intensity is cut back a bit and rest intervals are longer. Cardio without carbs really kicks my ass.
I got super lazy last year on COVID time and finally decided to get back on track and don't feel like taking forever to do it.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

You are either in a fed state or a fasted state. If you eat, that puts you in a fed state. So, everyone fasts, unless they wake up every 2 hours to eat at night.
Breakfast. Many eat it in the morning. Where do you think the name came from?
