IPL 2021: The Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) slated to be played later on Monday night has been postponed and a new date for the fixture will be communicated in due course. This development comes after two KKR players — Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for Covid-19.KKR players to undergo daily testing.

“Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID -19.
Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest.
The Medical Team is also determining the close and casual contacts of the two positive cases during the 48 hours prior to collection of the sample that returned the positive test results.
The BCCI and the Kolkata Knight Riders prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved and all measures are being taken in that endeavour”
IPL 2021: KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier test positive for COVID-19, Pat Cummins and others isolated
According to reports, it is believed that Chakravarthy recently left the IPL bio-bubble through the official green channel to carry out a scan on his shoulder and that is there where he might have got exposed
Pat Cummins, Eoin Morgan and other KKR players have been isolated.

Meanwhile, CA chief Nick Hockley told SEN on Monday that no plans were yet in place to bring Australians home via a charter flight. “There’s no suggestion at the moment of any charter flight,” Hockley told Melbourne radio station SEN.
“We’re working closely and talking closely with the ACA (Australian Cricketers’ Association), with the players and with the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to make sure everyone’s okay and the people have got full information.”
Australian players Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson, and Adam Zampa have returned home and Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison had also announced a ban on passenger flights from India till May 15.
IPL 2021: Nitish Rana, Axar Patel had tested positive before the start of the season
Before the start of the tournament, Delhi Capitals’ Axar Patel had tested positive for Covid-19. Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana also tested positive, but he also returned a negative test before the start of the tournament. Few groundstaff members at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai had also returned positive tests, but all the 10 IPL matches went smoothly in Mumbai.
So far, the IPL matches have been played across four venues — Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi. The next leg is slated to be played in Kolkata and Bengaluru and then the playoffs will go ahead at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. (ANI)
