A few photographs from the sets of the upcoming TV series Ms Marvel starring Iman Vellani as the titular superhero have surfaced online.

Vellani will make her acting debut as American-Pakistani Muslim superhero Kamala Khan in the Disney+ series. Comicbook.com notes that from the colours scheme to the insignia and the red pants, Vellani's costume is true to the comic book depiction.

Khan is a New Jersey resident, who loves superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. She eventually becomes a superhero herself when she gains shape-shifting abilities.

Speaking about the character, its co- creator Sana Amanat said that it is based on her own experience of growing up as a Pakistani-American Muslim in New Jersey, according to The National News. Ms Marvel will also make an appearance in Captain Marvel 2.

Other actors part of the cast are Rish Shah, Saagar Shaikh, Matt Lintz, Aramis Knight, Zenobia Shroff, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Buch, .and Mohan Kapur. Ms Marvel is expected to be released in late 2021.

ScreenRant writes that Shah will be seen as an Inhuman named Kamran, while there are rumours that Knight will play a vigilante named Red Dagger.

Not much is known about Vellani, however, it has been reported she was on the Next Wave panel at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.
