Imphal, May 02 2021: Unidentified persons suspect to be militants placed a hand grenade at the residential gate of Zilla Parishad Member Narjun Islam located at Khergao Nongjai Leikai under Porompat Police Station yesterday morning.

According to a source, locals of Khergao Nongjai Leikai came across the hand grenade and informed the police.

A team of Porompat police arrived at the spot and cordoned off the area and informed police bomb squad.

The hand grenade was removed from the spot and safely disposed at the Nongmaijing Ching foot hill.

Porompat police have registered a case regarding the incident.
