Three weeks after her mother's death, Patricia Lewis says she has "come up for air".

Patricia's mother, Linda Lewis, died on 11 April. In an Instagram post, Patricia said: "Her 12-year emotional rollercoaster and lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease has finally come to an end."

Linda was 73 years old.

Now, three weeks after her mother's death, the singer captioned an Instagram photo: "Sometimes it feels like 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 years.... there is no real perception of time when it comes to something like this. [sic]"

Remembering her mother, she said: "She always made a point to find the positive in everyone and in every situation! She was OUR bright shining light!"

Patricia also thanked her followers and everyone who reached out to their family, saying: "We laughed, we cried simultaneously, celebrated her incredibly touching life.

"YOU have ALL warmed and consoled our broken hearts with thousands upon thousands of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL messages and tributes to this magnificent Woman, Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Godparent, Friend, Giver, and most importantly, child of God, her Jehovah God," she said.
