Sangareddy: Department of Health sets rates for Covid tests, treatment

Sangareddy: With the issue of private hospitals charging excessive fees of Covid-19 patients in Sangareddy District informing officials, the Department of Medicine and Health has set the fee for various tests and treatments.

In a press release here on Monday, dr. Gayathri Devi, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), said private hospitals may not charge more than Rs 400 from patients admitted to general wards. The fee includes costs for tests such as blood test, urine test, HIV test, HCV, Hepatitis B, Serum creatinine, Ultrasound scan, 2D echo, X-ray, ECG, medicine, doctor’s fee, restraint, food and catheter. .

The DMHO said that the patients who were admitted to the ICU and put in a ventilator should charge Rs 4 000 and R 9 000 per day respectively. She said the hospitals may charge 2,200 RC Covid-19 tests. The costs determined by the health department for different diagnostic and health services will be placed in each of 28 hospitals Covid-19 treatment is given in the Sangareddy district.
