CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail will operate only a limited number of trains on April 25 in view of the Sunday lockdown announced by the Tamil Nadu government to contain the spread of Covid-19. Trains will be operated from 7am to 9pm on Sunday.
According to the new timings, trains will be available every one hour from Wimco Nagar to Airport and from Airport to Wimco Nagar.
Trains will be operated once in every two hours from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M G Ramachandran Central Metro Station to Airport and in the opposite direction, and from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M G Ramachandran Central Metro to St Thomas Mount and in the opposite direction.
There will be no peak hour service.
Earlier, CMRL had announced revised weekday timings with trains being operated from 5.30am to 9pm.
