MG Motor debuted Indian market back in 2019 with their Hector SUV. When launched, it was one of the most advanced and feature loaded SUV in the segment. For the same reason people liked it and Hector became popular among buyers in no time. The demand was so high that, MG even had to stop accepting booking for this SUV. A year after the launch of Hector, MG launched a 6 seater version of Hector in the market and named in Hector Plus for obvious reasons. Now, MG has released a 2021 version of Hector Plus earlier this year and here we have a new TVC for the same featuring the captain seats.
The video has been uploaded by Morris Garages India on their YouTube channel. The video shows a person driving the MG Hector Plus with his wife in the rear seat. The wife who is sitting in the rear seat is actually a pilot and he actually picked her up from the airport and they are both on their way to home. The wife is shown comfortably sitting in the rear seat. She is actually sleeping and is unaware of what is happening in the outside. The video shows that the ride was so comfortable that the wife only woke after they reached home.

The captain seats are actually quite comfortable and gives you the freedom to adjust the seats as per your own comfort. This is not available in the normal bench seats. MG Hector Plus when launched was available with captain seats only. In comparison to regular Hector, the interiors felt a little more premium or plush. There were tan colour soft touch materials on dashboard and the seats also get similar colour leather seats.
In terms of dimensions, Hector and Hector Plus remain the same. Hector Plus slightly longer because of a revised bumper. It offers same amount of space and Hector except it has an extra row of seats at the rear. 2021 version of Hector Plus which was launched in the market is available with bench seat option for second row passenger.
MG Hector Plus is a featured loaded SUV. It gets front ventilated seats, wireless phone charging, auto-dimming IRVMs, large touchscreen infotainment screen with connected car features. MG is also offering features like 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, powered tail gate in the Hector Plus. The software in touchscreen infotainment screen has been updated and it now understands Hinglish (Hindi+English) voice commands.
In terms of looks, the design remains the same as Hector with minor changes on bumper, headlights, LED DRLs and tail lights. MG Hector Plus is powered by the same engine as 5-seater Hector. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. There is a hybrid version which is available with the petrol engine.
The petrol version is powered by a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine. The engine generates 143 Ps and 250 Nm of torque. The hybrid version gets manual gearbox whereas the non-hybrid gets DCT gearbox. The diesel version of Hector Plus is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque with a manual gearbox.
