New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) The National Democratic Alliance and United Progressive Alliance were leading on two seats each in the early trends of the parliamentary by-elections in four constituencies of as many states.
In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party's candidate Maddila Gurumoorthy was leading in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election with 2,24,480 votes while Telugu Desam Party's Panabaka Lakshmi has so far bagged 1,30,173 votes.
A close fight was seen in Karnataka's Belgaum constituency as BJP's Angadi Mangal Suresh was 5709 votes ahead of Congress' Satish Laxmanrao Jarkiholi. At 1300 hrs, BJP had secured 1,87,919 while INC got 1,82,210 votes.
In Kerala, the UDF's Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was leading with 1,63,781 votes bagged till now. Communist Party of India (Marxist) was trailing on second spot with 1,25,360 votes.
The grand-old party's Vijaya Kumar (alias) Vijay Vasanth was leading from the Tamil Nadu's high-profile Kanniyakumari with 1,71,000 votes. BJP is on the second spot with 1,09,578 votes. The by-election on this constituency are being held after 50 years.
