COVID: HP registers 44 deaths, 2,453 new cases,

Shimla, May 2 (UNI) As many as 44 COVID-19 patients scummbed in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday and 2453 new cases were detected in the state, government sources said.
Nodal officer and Health Secretary Ambitab Awasthi said that 10 Covid patients died in Kangra, seven in Shimla, six in Una and Sirmaur, five in Hamirpur, four in Mandi, three in Solan, one each Kullu, Kinnaur and Chamba
As many 2543 people tested positive for nCoV including 537 in Mandi, 3999 in Kangra, 385 in Solan, 288 in Sirmaur, 218 in Shimla, 213 in Bilaspur, 144 in Hamipur, 110 in Una, 103 in Chamba, 43 n Kullu, one in Kinnuar and 14 in Lahaul Spiti.
Total cases increased to 1,04,581 in the state and active cases now stand at20,727. The death toll mounted to 1,556 while 1610 people recovered in the last 24 hrs.
